PHILADELPHIA – EducationWorks, Philadelphia’s leading organization for providing academic enrichment and workforce development programming to children and young adults, has announced the addition of three new board members to its Board of Directors: Dennis Maurice Dumpson, Founder and Principal Consultant of #InvestBLK; David Oppenheimer, Partner at Robin Hood Ventures; and Scott Stein, Principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers. The three new board members were appointed during a September board meeting and will serve a three-year board term.

By joining our Board, they have each committed to sharing that knowledge to cultivate the next generation of leaders in Philadelphia.”
The new appointees to EducationWorks’ Board of Directors are:

Dennis Maurice Dumpson
Dennis Maurice Dumpson is the Founder and Principal Consultant of #InvestBLK, which advises clients on racial equity, strategic planning, leadership, and fundraising/philanthropy. For more than 15 years, Dumpson has worked as a dual-sector leader, supporting pathways to access education reform, racial equity, and economic justice. His professional experience also includes fundraising, narrative development, strategic planning, community engagement, and project management. He is also the author of Black Washed: A Collection of Essays, Poems, Dreams, and Letters Addressed to Black Folk. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University, a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Education and Social Justice from the University of San Diego.

David Oppenheimer
David Oppenheimer is Partner and past Board President of Robin Hood Ventures, a network of experienced entrepreneurs and accredited investors, who are actively looking to support early-stage, high-growth startups. He brings more than 35 years of experience in growing and managing businesses, specializing in sales, operations, distribution, and acquisitions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from both the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Master of Business Administration from UCLA.

Scott Stein
Scott Stein is a Principal at PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC), a multinational professional services firm, where he leads a branch of their Labs practice that focuses on standardizing, automating, and delivering tools and processes as well as exploring emerging technologies. During his 24 years at PwC, Stein has developed extensive experience with process optimization, data analytics and visualization, robotic process automation, machine learning, natural language processing, and collaboration technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from American University and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
