EducationWorks Summer Camp Returns with In-Person/Digital Sites for 2021

Become a Citizen Scientist with EducationWorks! For our summer camp programming in 2021, we’ll explore what it means to be a Citizen Scientist with activities that allow students to embrace their natural curiosity and to observe events and collect data within their own communities. Through a partnership with SciStarter, we’ve developed hands-on, outdoor experiences that are designed to take place in school communities, local parks, and neighborhood green spaces.

Activities include:

  • The Great Sunflower Project- Planting, pollenating, and nurturing plant life
  • Philly Tree Mapping: Planting, studying, and mapping urban tree species
  • Philadelphia’s Historical Markers Scavenger Hunts
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Puppet Design and Cultural Storytelling
  • Socialized Recess
  • Team Building

Participating site locations and program dates:

  • Julia De Burgos Elementary School (in partnership with the City of Philadelphia and the School District of Philadelphia)
  • Virtual/Online, June 28 – August 6
  • Logan Elementary School, June 28 – August 6
  • McGraw Elementary School, July 7 – 30
  • East Camden Middle School, July 7 – August 11
